A brand-new supermarket has opened at the former site of Stop & Shop in one Bergen County town. Food Bazaar is now open at the Carlstadt Commons on Paterson Avenue in Carlstadt. Costco Submits Plans For Route 17 Site Of Shuttered Stop & Shop In Paramus, Mayor Says
The future of the shuttered Stop & Shop at the border of Ridgewood on Route 17 in Paramus is becoming clearer. On Thursday, Aug. 22, Paramus Mayor Chris DiPiazza announced Costco submitted plans for the site. Stop & Shop shuttered in 2022 while Kmart closed in 2021. Stop & Shop has released a list of the 32 underperforming stores by the end of the year. The grocery giant in March announced that it planned on closing a number of stores "in the interest of company longevity," as previously reported by Daily Voice.
