Vegetables, Bagged Salads Sold In 18 States Recalled Due To Listeria Concerns
A recall for a brand of vegetables and bagged salads has been expanded to 18 states due to possible Listeria contamination. Ohio-based Wiers Farm began its investigation in response to the Michigan Department of Agriculture's original findings, which led to the expansion. Products in the expanded recall were packed between Friday, July through Friday, July 12. Vegetables that are part of the recall include cucumbers, green bell and jalapeno peppers, green beans, and cilantro. They were sold in a variety of different stores, including Walmart. Stop & Shop has released a list of the 32 underperforming stores by the end of the year. The grocery giant in March announced that it planned on closing a number of stores "in the interest of company longevity," as previously reported by Daily Voice. Walmart has agreed to pay $1.64 million to settle accusations of unlawful pricing at its 64 stores across New Jersey, state officials said. The settlement, which includes a $1.61 million civil penalty, is the largest ever obtained by the Division’s Office of Weights and Measures (“OWM”). Unlicensed Motorist, 81, Drove With Flat On Route 287 Median: Franklin Lakes PD
An unlicensed 81-year-old out-of-state motorist drove an unregistered sedan on the grass median of Route 287 before she was stopped by police, authorities said. Franklin Lakes officers responding to a call found the Rhode Island woman driving at a slow speed in the right lane of southbound Route 287 just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, Capt. The future is grim for Stop & Shop's underperforming stores in the Northeast.
