Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

4 Rescued After Sailboat Overturns On Long Island Sound In Hempstead Bay Emergency responders from two counties teamed up to rescue several people after a sailboat overturned on the Long Island Sound. The incident happened around 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 Marine 7 of the Nassau County Police Department Marine Bureau Unit responded for reports of an overturned sailboat.  With the assistance of the Westchester Police Department, all four occupants were removed from the water and the sail boat was towed to shore by Town of North Hempstead Bay Constable.  The FDNY Marine Bureau was also at scene.  There were no injuries reported.

17-Year-Old Killed After SUV Crashes Into Tree In Merrick A teenager was killed after a compact SUV crashed into a tree overnight on Long Island. The incident happened around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 in Merrick. The teen, a 17-year-old boy, was operating a 2021 Honda CRV traveling southbound on Merrick Avenue when the incident happened.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity has not yet been released. A 2017 Kia sedan was traveling eastbound on Railroad Avenue and failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Great East Neck Road, Suffolk County Police said.
