Shooter In Custody Following Incident That Had Entire NJ Town Under Shelter In Place: Officials A 52-year-old gunman is in custody after a shooting in New Jersey prompted a shelter-in-place order for the entire town on Tuesday, Dec. 31, officials said. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office identified the suspect as Daniel Williams, who was being sought in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier in the afternoon. Authorities announced Williams' capture shortly after 6 p.m., bringing relief to the community. Tractor-Trailers Collide On NJ Turnpike (Update) A pair of tractor-trailers collided in a rear-end crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. One lane northbound remained blocked on Thursday, July 25 at about 1:45 p.m. north of Interchange 7A in Robbinsville, according to the NJDOT. Based on a preliminary investigation, a Freightliner tractor was traveling northbound on the New Jersey Turnpike at about 1 p.m. A Volvo tractor-trailer was parked on the right shoulder of the New Jersey Turnpike. Black Bear Sighted In Mercer County: Police There was another sighting of a black bear in Mercer County, authorities said. The latest bear was spotted near Spring Garden Road in Robbinsville around 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, Robbinsville Township police said in a Facebook post. Police said they notified the New Jersey Department of Fish & Wildlife. It was the second publicized sighting of a black bear in Mercer County since Thursday morning, June 20. Dump Truck Flips Injuring Driver On I-195 (Updated) There was a crash with injuries involving an overturned dump truck on Interstate 195, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 on I-195 westbound East of Exit 7 in Robbinsville, according to the NJDOT. A dump truck lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the right, struck a tree, and overturned, New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the dump truck was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said.  The crash remains under investigation.
