15-Year-Old Girl Killed In Double Jersey City Shooting: Prosecutor
A 15-year-old girl was killed and her 37-year-old female relative was wounded in a Jersey City shooting late Saturday, Jan. 18, authorities said. Cianna Lee and the other victim were found with gunshot wounds in a car on Oak Street near Martin Luther King Drive and Union Street around 11 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Lee was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, while her relative was hospitalized and is in stable condition, the prosecutor said. Two Men Shot In Newark: Police
Two men were shot in Newark on the early morning of Thursday, Jan. 16, authorities said. At 2:05 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of Washington Street on a call of a shooting, Newark Public Safety Director Eugene Miranda said Two gunshot victims were located and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, authorities said. .Each is reportedly in stable condition, Miranda said. This incident remains under investigation, Miranda said.

Amir Doctry, who was arrested Monday, Jan. 13 after making threats that caused the Montclair school district to shut down, had been placed on leave for "erratic behavior," according to a report. Roseland Shooting Was Suicide, Officials Say
A 39-year-old man died by suicide in an Essex County town late Sunday night, Jan. 12, authorities said. UPDATE: After posting the story, Roseland officials announced that the incident on Kent Drive was a suicide. Out of respect for the victim, Daily Voice has removed the victim's name. Gas Leak Forces Evacuation Of Clark Town Hall: Police
Clark Town Hall had to be evacuated due to a gas leak on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 8, authorities said. Officers, firefighters and the Elizabethtown gas company responded to Clark Town Hall for a report of an odor of gas, Clark police said.
