Thanksgiving Crash Kills Former NJ Hockey Captain Gavin Barooah, 19
The victim killed in a Morris County crash on Thanksgiving Night, Nov. 28 has been identified as a 19-year-old former hockey player. Gavin Barooah, of Ledgewood, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Benz when his vehicle collided with a Jeep around 8 p.m. at Morris and Sussex turnpikes in Randolph, according to Meghan Knab, a spokesperson for the county prosecutor's office. The driver of the Jeep was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Dad Killed In NJ Crash Was Driving Home From Work, Loved Ones Say
Support is on the rise for a New Jersey family after their patriarch was killed in a crash after work. Alex Folnagy, 31, of Somerset, was the sole occupant of the 2010 Nissan Altima that crashed head-on with a 2018 Jeep Wrangler just before 7:25 a.m. on Amwell Road near South Middlebush Road in Franklin Township, Franklin Township police said. Man Shot In Downtown Newark: Police
A man is recovering after being shot in downtown Newark on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 5, authorities said. At 4:40 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of Broad Street and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man said he observed two other men engaged in a verbal altercation before one of the men brandished a handgun, Fragé said. Man Stabbed In Hoboken: Authorities
A man was hospitalized after he was stabbed in Hoboken on the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 4, authorities said. At 12:30 a.m., police responded to the 400 block on Harrison Street on a report of a stabbing, a spokeswoman for the city said. Grenade Explodes Injuring Woman In Mercer County
A 39-year-old woman was injured when a deactivated grenade exploded in Mercer County, authorities said. On Monday, June 10, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Hightstown police were dispatched to the Deerfield/Westerlea Arms Apartment complex rental office on Westerlea Avenue. The woman was suffering from severe stomach pain, police said. Woman, 21, Shot At Large House Party In Central Jersey
A 21-year-old woman was shot at a large party Friday night, June 7 in Highland Park, authorities said. Police were dispatched to the 200 block of South 7th Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. after getting a call about a disturbance. They found the woman shot three times, Highland Park police said.
