Two Jersey City Gang Members Sentenced For Role In Multiple Shootings: Feds
Two Jersey City gang members were sentenced to lengthy prison terms on Wednesday, Aug. 21, for their role in two different shootings and other crimes, authorities said.
Jakeem Gibson-Madison, a.k.a. “Beanz,” 30; and Terick Rogers, a.k.a. “Moot,” 32, are members of a Jersey City gang associated with the Marion Gardens Housing Complex, US Attorney Phillip Sellinger said. Gibson-Madison was sentenced to 15 years in prison while Rogers was sentenced to 16 years in prison, Sellinger said.

Maplewood Man Assaults Officer After Attack At Local Home, Police Say
A 32-year-old man was jailed on assault charges after an incident in Maplewood last week, police said.
Steven Hemmings, a local resident, is accused of attacking someone at a Florida Street home, and then attacking an officer, on Monday, Aug. 12, Maplewood according to police and charges filed against him.
He was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault on an officer, and a weapons offense.
Hemmings was subsequently lodged in the Essex County Jail.
Attacker Who Shoved NJ Woman Into Oncoming Subway Train Will Serve 12 Years In Prison: DA
A 32-year-old woman who pushed a New Jersey resident into an oncoming train at a New York City subway platform in 2021 pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 8 and will be sentenced to 12 years in prison, authorities said.
On Oct. 4, 2021, Anthonia Egegbara, was sitting on a bench when she stood up, walked over to Lenny Javier, a Union City resident, and pushed her into the oncoming train at the Times Square subway station on the 1,2, 3 platform during the morning rush, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.

Four Newark Men Robbed Postal Worker At Gunpoint: Feds
Four Newark men were arrested and charged on Thursday, Aug. 1 with robbing a postal worker at gunpoint last November, authorities said.
Last November, three people, including Troy Corbett, 28, and Dyshawn Williams, 28 stole the victim's cell phone, keys and wallet, containing a credit card and debit card, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said. The robbery is a federal crime, since it impeded the postal worker from delivering mail, interfering with interstate commerce, Sellinger said.
