Crash With Injuries Closes Garden State Parkway Exit In South Jersey, Police Say (Developing) An exit on the Garden State Parkway in Atlantic County was closed due to a crash near the interchange, authorities said. Egg Harbor Township police responded to the crash at the traffic lights for the intersection of Fire Road and the parkway exit ramps on Tuesday, July 16, the department said in a Facebook post. The state Department of Transportation reported the crash near the northbound exit ramp at 11:56 a.m. EXIT 36 from/to the GSP is closed at this time due to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the traffic signal on Fire Road. Pavement Heave Causes Major Traffic Jam On Garden State Parkway Morning rush hour traffic appeared to be moving smoothly on the Garden State Parkway after buckled pavement caused major delays in Toms River. A pavement heave was found on the southbound side near milepost 82.7, the parkway said on Twitter at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Emergency repairs forced the right lane to close, causing significant delays during a busy Fourth of July holiday travel week.
