Engine Stall Risk Sparks Recall For 294K+ Honda, Acura Vehicles Nearly 295,000 Honda and Acura vehicles are being recalled due to a software issue that could cause engines to lose power or stall, increasing crash risks, officials said. Honda, which also owns Acura, announced the recall in a news release on Wednesday, Jan. 29. The 294,612 recalled vehicles include select 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type S, 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type S, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot models. Johnny Epperson Jr., 67, died in the crash on Route 206 North in Southampton Township on Sunday, Sept. 15, a state police spokesperson said. Aaron Aponte, 28, died from his injuries in the crash on Tuesday, July 9, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. It happened at the intersection of Fort Plains Road and Jerry’s Lane at around 4:53 p.m. Investigators said Aponte was riding a Honda GL 1100L motorcycle north on Fort Plains when he tried to go around a curve in the road.
