Kingda Ka Retired At Six Flags Great Adventure, 'Record-Breaking' Replacement Coming In 2026 Six Flags Great Adventure is closing down the world's tallest roller coaster after two decades of thrills, officials said. The Jackson Township amusement park's Kingda Ka roller coaster will be retired, Six Flags said in a news release on Thursday, Nov. 14. The ride's closing is one of many changes for the 2025 season at the resort. Kingda Ka opened in 2005 and gave more than 12 million rides to parkgoers.
