A Monroe Township man was killed when he got out of his car and was hit by a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. Michael Veisz, 40, died in the crash on Interstate 95 North in East Brunswick on Friday, Aug. 23, a state police spokesperson said. Boy Airlifted After Stepping On Hot Coals Illegally Dumped On NJ Beach, Officials Say
A boy was airlifted to a hospital after officials say he stepped on hot coals that had been illegally dumped on a New Jersey beach. Paramedics and EMTs from Sea Bright and Robert Wood Johnson were called to Sandy Hook near Guardian Park, where they found the boy with burns to both feet around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, Gateway National Recreation Area spokeswoman Daphne Yun said. A Red Bank man was accused of killing a pedestrian and leaving the scene of a crash in Shrewsbury, authorities said. An Atlantic City man admitted to killing a Ventnor City man while trying to steal his SUV almost six years ago, authorities said. Angelo Delgado, 22, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 22 to first-degree felony murder, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. Four people suffered smoke inhalation after a large boat caught fire at a marina in Wildwood, officials said. The fire started on the boat docked at Schooner Island Marina at around 12:39 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, the City of Wildwood Fire Department said in a Facebook post. Three Atlantic County teens were arrested for refusing to leave a business after curfew, including one who was accused of having heroin and cocaine, authorities said.
