Newark Man Identified In Deadly Shooting At NJ Transit Station
Authorities have identified a Newark man who was shot and killed at the New Jersey Transit station in Long Branch. James Hailey, 43, was killed in the shooting, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson said on Thursday, Aug. 29. Long Branch police responded to the train station's platform at around 7:39 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26. Officers found Hailey and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its winter weather predictions for the 2024-25 season. This year's title speaks for itself: "The 2025 Old Farmer’s Almanac Forecasts a 'Calmer, Gentler' Winter." Sundown Swimmers At Unguarded NJ Beach Rescued
Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post. The New Jersey Health Department has issued an advisory due to an increase in whooping cough cases across both the United States and New Jersey.
