At 2 a.m., officers responded to a report of a driver going the wrong way on Columbia Turnpike, Florham Park police said. Officers spotted the woman driving east in the westbound left turn only lane near James Street and continued to drive through the yellow safety zone, police said.

The driver, who was not identified by police, was unable to navigate a turn late or properly stop at a red light, before turning onto Hanover Road northbound in the southbound lane, police said.

Following sobriety tests, the driver was arrested and while being taken into custody, it was discovered she had an alcoholic drink in her clothes pocket, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving and numerous other traffic offenses.
