As families enjoyed their summers at popular Hudson Valley state parks, authorities were busy conducting an enforcement sweep — leading to hundreds of tickets and even a drunk driving arrest.
The enforcement actions were part of the statewide Buckle Up New York "Parks Occupant Safety Initiative," which ran from Monday, July 6 through Thursday, Aug. 6, New York State Police announced on Friday, Aug. 7.

A Long Island drug dealer was busted with a wide variety of illegal offerings during a raid Thursday, Aug. 6, police said.
Jack Acquafredda, 23, of Bellerose Terrace, was arrested around 4:30 p.m., the Nassau County Police Department said. Inside his residence, officers found:
Cocaine – approximately 41 grams
MDMA – approximately 28.9 grams
Psilocybin mushrooms – approximately 1.5 pounds
Ketamine – approximately 5.3 grams

Citizen Complaints Spark Brothel Bust On Long Island, Two Arrested: Police
A Long Island brothel was busted Thursday, Aug. 6 after numerous community complaints, police said.
Two women — Fen Fang Lin, 57, of Queens, and Xiangjie Lin, 41, of Brooklyn — were arrested following the raid at 1998 Route 112, Apt. 51A in Coram, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
In addition to the arrests, cocaine, cash, and electronic devices were seized during the raid, authorities said.
