These Two New Jersey Counties Flipped From Red To Blue In 2020
As President Joe Biden cruised to victory in New Jersey in the 2020 presidential election, he got some help from two counties that went his way after voting for former President Donald Trump in 2016: Morris and Gloucester.
Morris County went to Biden, 51.14% to 46.90%, 153,881 votes to 141,134 votes. It was a remarkable turnaround for a county that hadn't voted Democrat at the presidential level since Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater in 1964.
In 2016, Morris County voted for Trump, who defeated Clinton 126,071 votes to 115,249 votes, 49.72% to 45.46%.

A 31-year-old Wayne man was identified as the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Parsippany before fleeing the scene and then trying to flee the country last month, authorities said.
Davut Batca was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 when he struck Jelson Cabrera, 35, of Trenton, on Route 46 West near Sandra Drive just before 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said.

18 Unsolved Burglaries Cracked: Pair Arrested In Months-Long North Jersey Spree
Two men have been arrested and charged in 18 burglaries and one attempted burglary across North Jersey, authorities said.
A months-long investigation found Kali J. Carter, 49, of East Orange, and Demetrius D. Hale, 49, of Bergenfield, were responsible for the incidents, all of which were residential burglaries, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

A large altercation in Parsippany on Saturday, July 20, resulted in the arrest of a 44-year-old man, authorities said.
At 10:59 p.m., officers responded to Roosevelt Avenue for a disturbance and numerous individuals began fleeing, running through the yards of surrounding residences, Parsippany police said.

8-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Car While Riding Bicycle In Morris County, Police Say
An 8-year-old riding his bicycle was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Parsippany on Tuesday, July 9, authorities said.
At 5:34 p.m., the 8-year-old was struck by a 2022 Mazda CX5 traveling in the area of 189 Littleton Road, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Parsippany –Troy Hills Police Chief Richard Pantina said.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.
Prosecutor Identifies Victim Killed In Route 46 Crash
Gerard Calcagno, a 55-year-old Bloomfield resident, was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Route 46 in Parsippany on Thursday, June 6, authorities said.
At 9:50 p.m., Calcagno was struck near 1429 Route 46 by a 2015 Dodge Journey traveling eastbound, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
