11 Dead In Listeria Outbreak Linked To Frozen Shakes
Frozen shakes are being recalled due to a Listeria outbreak that has caused 11 deaths and sickened dozens more, the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said. The products under the brand names Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial were sold to institutional settings such as long-term care facilities and hospitals and distributed throughout the nation in 4-ounce cartons. Escaped Sex Offender Apprehended After Days On The Run:

A registered sex offender who escaped from custody while being transported in Newark last week has been apprehended, authorities said. Nicholas Voutsas, 25, had escaped from a New Jersey Department of Health medical transport van while en route to a hospital, New Jersey State Police said. Police approached Voutsas at a homeless shelter for men in Brooklyn and he immediately tried to flee, NBC New York reported. Driver Injured After Truck Hauling Coconut Oil Overturns On Route 80:

A driver was injured after his truck overturned on Route 80 in Morris County the early morning of Tuesday, Dec. 18, authorities said. At 2:53 a.m. on Route 80 west in Mount Arlington, a tanker truck hauling coconut oil veered off the roadway and overturned, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
