At 5:15 p.m., the Holland Township Police Department responded to a report of a body found in the Musconetcong River, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said.. A fisherman reported finding the body in a shallow section of the river while fishing in the area, authorities said.
The initial investigation indicated that the person had been deceased for several weeks prior to being located, authorities said. The gender and identity of the deceased has not been determined at this time, authorities said.
The circumstances of the death remain under investigation, authorities said.
