Hackettstown Man Drove Recklessly While Drunk: Mt Olive PD

A 32-year-old Hackettstown man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Mount Olive on Saturday, April 5, authorities said.

At 12:35 a.m., officers observed a tan Mazda fail to maintain its lane of travel on Sand Shore Road, Mount Olive police said.

A traffic stop was initiated near Stephen’s State Park Road, police said. The driver, Daniel Maya, Jr. had an odor of alcohol on his breath and he appeared to be impaired, police said.

Following field sobriety testing, Maya, Jr. was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and numerous other traffic violations, police said.

He was released pending a court hearing, police said.
