Toms River Driver, 84, Suffers 'Medical Emergency,' Knocks Down Utility Pole: Police An elderly Toms River man was hospitalized after crashing into a utility pole in Ocean County, authorities said. The 84-year-old man was driving at the intersection of Route 70 and Center Street at around 12:16 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, the Lakehurst Police Department said in a news release. He suffered a "medical emergency" and lost control of his vehicle, knocking down a utility pole. Paramedics brought the man to Community Medical Center for treatment. Nearby Workers, Bystanders Rush To Help Fiery Crash Victims In South Jersey Bystanders and employees at nearby businesses were praised for helping the two victims of a fiery crash in Atlantic County, authorities said. Egg Harbor Township police responded to the crash near 2511 Fire Road at around 9:37 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, the department said in a news release. The crash was in front of the Bellevue Commons business complex.
