Inferno Destroys Multi-Million Dollar Paramus Home, Firefighter Slips On Marble Floor: Sources A massive fire that destroyed a newly built multi-million dollar home in Paramus started in a car parked in the driveway and quickly spread to the house early Monday, March 17, Daily Voice has learned. The fire broke out at approximately 2:10 a.m., igniting one of three vehicles (two Teslas and a non-electric vehicle) parked in the driveway, responders said. The vehicle that caught fire was not one of the Teslas, responders said. Flames quickly engulfed the garage, climbed the side of the home, and spread to the second floor and roof. DPW Personnel Extinguish Porch Fire: Andover Police Some quick thinking from the Department of Public Works led to the extinguishing of a porch fire in Andover Township on Friday, Dec. 27, authorities said. At 10 a.m., the Andover DPW observed a fire on the porch and officers and the Andover Boro Fire Department responded, Andover police said. DPW personnel removed the items on fire from the deck portion of the residence which included a chair and other items and then used a shovel and snow to extinguish the fire, police said. Malfunctioning Battery Causes Scooter Fire: Roxbury FD A malfunctioning lithium ion battery led to a scooter fire in Roxbury Township on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said. At 9 p.m., firefighters responded to the 200 block of Center Street in Port Morris on a report of smoke coming from a basement, Roxbury Fire and First Aid Company 2 said.  Upon arrival, an electric scooter was found to be on fire in the basement, firefighters said.
