A New Jersey truck driver was killed when his tractor-trailer veered off the road and overturned on Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania, officials announced on Thursday, March 6. Timothy O. Atanda, 48, of Newark, was behind the wheel when the crash happened at mile marker 60.7 in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, at approximately 2:01 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said. Driver Disregarded Crossing Gates Before Being Killed By Train In Morris County: Officials
A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 struck the vehicle at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park just before 9:30 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. A preliminary investigation found that the crossing gates were working as intended and were in the down position when the driver drove the vehicle around the gates and positioned the vehicle into the path of the train, Mulumba said. A 23-year-old Morris County man died in a two-motorcycle crash in Passaic County last month, police said. Sean McClinton, of Riverdale, was heading north on a 2022 Triumph STR north on East Shore Road when he ran off the road to the right and struck the guardrail, causing him to separate from the motorcycle around 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 31, a spokesperson for the West Milford Police Department said. A 47-year-old Newark man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Friday, July 19, for a deadly 2021 crash on the Garden State Parkway where he was driving intoxicated at 114 mph, authorities said. Prosecutor Identifies Victim Killed In Route 46 Crash
Gerard Calcagno, a 55-year-old Bloomfield resident, was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Route 46 in Parsippany on Thursday, June 6, authorities said. At 9:50 p.m., Calcagno was struck near 1429 Route 46 by a 2015 Dodge Journey traveling eastbound, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
