New Jersey's largest planned AI data center has been hit with a record $1.07 million fine after state inspectors found 62 large natural-gas generators operating without required permits, officials said.

A 20-year-old Lumberton woman was killed in a crash on I-195 in Mercer County, authorities announced Tuesday, Sept. 22.
At 3:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, troopers responded to I-195 east in Robbinsville township after a Toyota struck the back of a Chevrolet pickup truck, ran off the road to the right and struck two trees, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
As a result of the crash, Akkaya sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. She was pronounced dead the next day, Lebron said.

NJ Mom Says Son, 7, Killed In Minibike Crash 'Did Everything Right'
A 7-year-old boy died after the gas-powered minibike he was riding collided with a car in Atlantic City, authorities said.
The boy was riding near Massachusetts and Melrose avenues around 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, when the minibike collided with a 2012 blue Nissan Altima, Atlantic City police said.
The Nissan driver remained at the scene, and both vehicles were towed for further investigation, police said.
The boy was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
