Newark Woman Assaulted, Robbed At Gunpoint On Porch: Police A Newark woman was sitting on her porch when she was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 11, authorities said.  At 10:06 p.m., the woman was sitting on the porch of her home on Houston Street when the suspect stopped in front of the house in a silver minivan, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé  said. Purse Snatchers At Large In Newark (Photo) Police are looking for three people wanted for snatching a woman's purse at a restaurant in Newark on Saturday, Aug. 10.  At 2 p.m., a woman left her purse on the table after dining outside at Ferry Street Barbecue at 89 Ferry Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The suspect were captured on surveillance video taking her purse, containing her personal belongings, including $150 and credit cards, authorities said. Search Under Way For Suspect Who Robbed 2 Women At Gunpoint In Newark: Cops A man robbed two women at gunpoint last week in Newark, authorities said. On Wednesday, June 19 at 3:23 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of Orange Street after a person attempted to snatch a woman's purse, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said.  When the woman resisted, the suspect brandished a firearm and she surrendered her purse, Fragé said. The suspect then fled westbound on Orange Street toward East Orange.
