Newark Man Identified In Deadly Shooting At NJ Transit Station
Authorities have identified a Newark man who was shot and killed at the New Jersey Transit station in Long Branch. James Hailey, 43, was killed in the shooting, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson said on Thursday, Aug. 29. Long Branch police responded to the train station's platform at around 7:39 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26. Officers found Hailey and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Friends and loved ones were rallying to support the family of a Palmyra teen killed by a New Jersey Transit train. Matthew Dickinson died on Thursday, Aug. 8, according to the Palmyra School District. He was 15 years old. A pedestrian was struck by two trains and killed in West Windsor Township, officials said. The person was hit by a Northeast Corridor train for the New Jersey Transit just west of Princeton Junction Station at around 9:26 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Woman Charged With DWI After NJ Transit Train Hits Empty Vehicle In Central Jersey
A Long Branch woman was accused of driving while intoxicated after an empty vehicle was struck by a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said. North Jersey Coast Line train No. 4384 hit an unoccupied vehicle in Long Branch at around 8:59 p.m. on Monday, June 3, an NJ Transit spokesperson said.
