Former Jersey Shore Town Mayor Michael Brantley Dies At 79: 'Remarkable Public Servant' Michael Brantley, who was a former mayor of Neptune Township, has died. An obituary posting said Brantley died on Saturday, Jan. 6. He was 79 years old. Brantley also had served on the township committee. Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted his condolences after the former mayor's death was announced. "Michael was a remarkable public servant and will be deeply missed by the Neptune community," said Gov. Murphy.
