Jumper Survives Plunge Off Victory Bridge In Central Jersey: Police A person who jumped from the Victory Bridge in Middlesex County miraculously survived on Wednesday, May 15, Daily Voice has learned. Marine units from Perth Amboy, Woodbridge, and the New Jersey State Police responded to the bridge that brings Route 35 over the Raritan River around 3:30 p.m., Sayreville Police Lt. James Novak said. They found the jumper — alive — and brought them to Raritan Bay Hospital in Perth Amboy. Man Arrested For Cutting Another's Fingers Off In Central Jersey: Police A 24-year-old man has been arrested for slashing a man and cutting off some of his fingers during an attack under the Victory Bridge in Perth Amboy, authorities said. Ziyare Palmer, of Perth Amboy, was charged with attempted murder, weapons offenses and motor vehicle theft in what Perth Amboy police described as a domestic violence assault. Palmer attacked a 39-year-old Woodbridge man at about 11:15 p.m. on April 14, police said. The victim was yelling for help when police arrived. Victim's Fingers Cut Off During Attack In Perth Amboy A victim had his fingers cut off during an attack in Perth Amboy, authorities said. The man also was slashed, according to a spokeswoman for Perth Amboy City Hall. Police were called to Riverview Drive under the Victory Bridge at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, April 14 and found the injured man, the spokeswoman said.  The man, who does not reside in Perth Amboy, was brought to an area hospital. Additional details were not available.
