A Rutgers University student is accused of committing lewd acts and criminal sexual contact in more than a dozen incidents at the university's Piscataway campus and in South Brunswick, prosecutors announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Jihad Goines, 21, of Monmouth Junction, was charged after investigations tied him to incidents at the Royal Oaks Apartment Complex and the Dickson Carr Library on the Rutgers campus, authorities said. Baby Python Removed From Rutgers Dorm Room
A baby python was found in a Rutgers University dormitory room. Rutgers University Police Department was called on Monday, Nov. 27 to Voorhees Residence Hall on the Cook Campus. Officer Rebecca Phillips located and safely removed a baby python from the dorm room, police said. The snake was turned over to New Brunswick Animal Control. "Students must receive approval from from the Office of Disability Services to live in university housing with support animals and unwanted animals should never be released," Rutgers police said on Facebook.

A 29-year-old Hillsborough Township man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Nov. 21 with groping two female Rutgers students in two separate incidents the night before. An Airsoft pellet gun was fired by a passing motorist on the Rutgers University campus, authorities said. The Rutgers University Police Department is investigating the incident of aggravated assault which occurred on Tuesday, May 10, at approximately 4:48 p.m. near the intersection of College Avenue and Senior Street, in the city of New Brunswick, police said. Three separate robberies are under investigation at the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick, authorities said. According to a statement released by Rutgers Police Chief Kenneth Cop, the first incident occurred on Thursday, March 3, at approximately 1:04 a.m. on Hartwell Street near Hamilton Street. A Rutgers University police officer threatened his roommate with guns -- including when the TV was too loud, authorities said. William Tartis, 27, of Ocean Township, has been charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault in connection with multiple instances where he pulled a firearm on his roommate, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J.
