For Sebastian Rivera of Toms River, the only thing that tastes as sweet as an Olympic medal might be donuts from a hometown shop. The former Rutgers University wrestler won a bronze medal representing Puerto Rico at the 2024 Summer Olympics. He was back in Toms River less than two days after his final match in Paris to pick up some treats at Ob-Co's Donuts. The Fischer Boulevard shop posted a Facebook picture on Tuesday, Aug. 13 of Rivera posing with his bronze medal and a box of donuts. Three former Rutgers University football players will face off in Super Bowl LVIII, including one New Jersey native trying to win his third Lombardi Trophy and two Scarlet Knights looking to earn their second championship. Kansas City Chiefs starting running back Isiah Pacheco, of Vineland, helped lead the defending champions in the AFC title game at Baltimore on Sunday, Jan. 28. 'Rutgers Royalty': Basketball Legend Phil Sellers Dies At 69
Phil "The Thrill" Sellers, who rewrote the Rutgers Scarlet Knight record book and led the school to its only Final Four appearance, died on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the age of 69, the school announced. Sellers is the all-time leader in points scored and rebounds at the school and captained the famous Final Four team that went undefeated in the regular season and was ranked fourth in the country.
