Leamon Washington Charged A convicted felon was accused of stealing from several businesses in Monmouth County, authorities said. Leamon Washington, 51, was arrested on Tuesday, Apr. 16, the Township of Ocean Police Department said in a Facebook post. Officers responded at around 2:30 a.m. to a report of broken glass at the Blue Swan Diner on Route 35 in Oakhurst. Police entered the restaurant and Washington was found in the crawl space. He was brought to the Ocean Township police headquarters, and investigators learned he was involved in other business burglaries in the township and surrounding communities.  …

Red Lobster Shutters After 45 Years On Jersey Shore Red Lobster closed its last Monmouth County restaurant after more than 45 years of business. The eatery was located at 2200 Route 35 in Oakhurst. “Thank you for calling Red Lobster. This location is closed. We would like to thank our guests for their loyalty over the years and look forward to serving you at a different location,” the restaurant’s voicemail says. The seafood chain runs 16 restaurants statewide.  The chain also operates more than 700 restaurants nationwide.
