Freak Accident Kills Boy, 12, Playing In NJ Backyard: Police A New Jersey boy was killed when a tree fell on him in a backyard, authorities said. Lucas Schwartz, 12, was identified as the victim of the Eldridge Avenue incident in Lawrence Township on a GoFundMe page.  Police said he'd been playing with a friend in the backyard of a home when gusty winds blew the tree over, and it fell onto him around 12:09 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.  Officers freed Schwartz from under the tree and began CPR. Paramedics rushed Lucas to Capital Health System Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Mercer County School District Mourns Loss Of Eighth-Grade Student Alex Wolohan A Mercer County school district is mourning the loss of eighth-grade student Alex Wolohan. Grover Middle School student Alex Wolohan died on Friday, Nov. 4, the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District said in a release. “The district and the community extends our heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends,” Superintendent David Aderhold said in the release. “During this time, I ask that we respect the family’s wishes for time to process this tragedy and to respect their time as a family to grieve.” Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends of Alex Wolohan.
