'Please Don't Let Me Die': Man Shot At Hackensack Convenience Store, Arrest Made “Please don’t let me die,” a shooting victim told police as he lay bleeding on the floor of a Hackensack convenience store. The victim survived, thanks to city firefighters and paramedics, and the gunman was arrested a block away, thanks to a Bergen County sheriff's K-9 unit.
