Man Struck Victim In Neck With Belt: Lakewood PD
A 29-year-old Jamesburg man was arrested and charged after he struck a person in the neck with a belt, Lakewood police announced Thursday, March 26. On Saturday, March 21, officers observed two men engaged in a verbal altercation near Clifton Avenue, Lakewood police said. During the altercation, Kevin Vazquez removed his belt and struck the other man in the neck, police said. The victim reported pain in his neck, while Vazquez was charged with assault and a weapons related offense, police said.

16-Year-Old Guns Down 17-Year-Old In Sayreville: Prosecutor
A 16-year-old was arrested and charged in the deadly shooting of a 17-year-old in Sayreville on Friday, Jan. 9, authorities said. At 10:58 p.m., Sayreville police responded to Woods Edge Court and found a 17-year-old from East Brunswick with a gunshot wound, Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Sayreville Police Chief Daniel Plumacker said. Toraya Reid, the 28-year-old Jackson resident gunned down on Saturday, Sept. 6, has been identified as the sister of basketball player Naz Reid. Naz, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves after starring at Roselle Catholic, took to Instagram to pay tribute to his sister, posting numerous photos of the two of them together. A 26-year-old New Jersey man wanted for fatally stabbing his grandfather was arrested in Pennsylvania, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 27.
