Man Shot Dead By Jersey City Police: AG
A man was fatally shot by police in Jersey City on Friday, Sept. 5, authorities said. The shooting occurred at 1:23 p.m. on John F. Kennedy Blvd, Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. The man's identity and the identities of the officers involved have not been released. The shooting caused John F. Kennedy Boulevard to be closed in both directions from Clendenny Avenue to Communipaw Avenue, the Hudson County Executive's Office said, citing "police activity." A wrong-way driver caused a devastating head-on collision on Route 17 in Orange County, leaving two people dead and another seriously injured, New York State Police confirmed. The crash occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, when a 2009 Nissan traveling in the eastbound direction on the westbound lanes of Route 17 near Exit 126 in Chester struck a 2014 Honda Odyssey head-on, according to State Police. The 48-year-old Plainfield man was walking in the middle of the highway when he was struck by a white Ford Econoline van in the westbound lanes just past France Drive around 8:30 p.m., Branchburg Police Capt.
