A breathtaking drone video has captured a great white shark gliding just off the Northeast coast, sparking new safety warnings for beachgoers as sightings continue along the state’s southern shoreline.
The footage, taken in Portsmouth, Maine from the watercraft of David Lancaster on Monday, Aug. 11, at around 10 a.m., shows the unmistakable silhouette of a large shark, estimated to be 10 to 12 feet long, moving through the waters near Richmond Island and Scarborough Beach.

11-Foot Shark Pings Off Jersey Shore, Long Island
A massive white shark named Dold was tracked just off the coast of New Jersey and Long Island on Friday, June 20, according to the latest OCEARCH data.
At 11:41 a.m., Dold, an 11-foot, 2-inch, 761-pound male, pinged east of Sandy Hook, about halfway between the Garden State and Montauk, based on satellite maps.
