Walmart Evacuated After Bomb Threat: Howell PD A Walmart was evacuated following a bomb threat on Howell Monday afternoon, April 6. At 2 p.m., officers responded to the retailer at 4900 Route 9 to investigate a bomb threat which had initially been reported to the Lakewood Police Department, Howell police said. The store was promptly evacuated of all employees and customers while officers investigated, police said. Man Found Dead At Route 9 Strip Mall: Prosecutor A 72-year-old homeless man was found dead at a strip mall near Route 9 in Parlin on Wednesday, Oct. 22, authorities said. At 2:02 p.m., Sayreville police responded to 499 Ernston Rd. and found Dhirubhai Patel dead on the side of the building, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said.  Sayreville police are handling the investigation, prosecutors said. The death is under investigation pending an autopsy, prosecutors said. There is no threat to the public, prosecutors said.

A vehicle struck a utility pole in the northbound lanes, causing wires to fall onto the roadway, Woodbridge Police Captain Brian Murphy said.
