Bomb Threats Place Ocean County Hospitals Into Lockdown: Prosecutor
Two Ocean County hospitals were placed into lockdown after bomb threats were called in on Tuesday, Dec. 9, authorities said. Law enforcement responded to the threats called into Community Medical Center in Toms River and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Both hospitals were placed on lockdown, and sweeps of both facilities were conducted by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit with negative results, Billhimer said. Fire Damages Lakewood Elementary School
A Friday night fire caused damage to an elementary school in Lakewood, authorities said. At 7:30 p.m., Lakewood Township Police and Fire responded to Piner Elementary School at 1141 E. County Line Rd. for a structure fire, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Emergency personnel discovered an active structure fire and were able to extinguish the blaze, Billhimer said. Yet another New Jersey teacher has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a student. Julie Rizzitello, 36, submitted her resignation letter as a Wall Township High School teacher earlier this week amid being criminal charges stemming from the sexual assault of a student, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S.
