Alan Harris, a history teacher at Carteret Junior High School, died on Saturday, Sept. 6 after suffering a massive stroke, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family. Aside from teaching history, Harris was a soccer coach who also helped with the Cub Scouts, according to the fundraiser. Motorcyclist Killed After Running Red Light, Crashing Into Car: Lakewood PD
A 33-year-old Toms River man and former standout baseball player was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, Sept. 6 in Lakewood, authorities said. At 9:53 a.m., Anthony Ferrentino was operating a 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT motorcycle on Shorrock Street when he failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a Dodge Hornet that was making a left turn, Lakewood police said. Patrick McGlynn, who had lived in Jackson Township for the last 21 years, died on Friday, May 30, following a routine colonoscopy, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family. He was 58.
