A police officer on his first solo shift helped save a woman’s life after she went into cardiac arrest following a crash in South Jersey last month, authorities said. At 8:23 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, officers responded to to Greentree Road in front of All American Assisted Living for a report of a vehicle that struck a telephone pole, Washington Township police said. The UH-60 Black Hawk touched down near Weaver and Moyer roads in Robeson Township (Berks County) around 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, US Army officials told Daily Voice. A woman died after her arm was bitten off by a shark at a popular St. Croix beach in the US Virgin Islands, authorities said. Arlene Lillis of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, was identified as the victim who died on Thursday, Jan. 8. The shark bit the 56-year-old woman's arm in the water at Dorsch Beach in Frederiksted. Volunteer Firefighter Michael Yanoschak, Toms River Native, Dies At 36
Toms River Michael Yanoschak died on Saturday, Nov. 15, after battling leukemia, according to his obituary from the Wimberg Funeral Home website. He was 36 years old. Yanoschak, a volunteer firefighter for the Pleasant Plains Fire Department, was devoted to honoring veterans, police ,and first responders, and opened One Nation Est. 1176 in Smithville, where he lived, his obituary reads. Yanoschak is survived by his parents Lisa and David, his siblings David and Ana and numerous other family members and friends, according to his obituary. Two people were hospitalized after a house caught on fire in Montgomery Friday, Nov. 7, authorities said. At 4:13 a.m., first responders responded to a residence of Opossum Road for a house fire, Montgomery police said. Richard “Rich” Salim, 59, is believed to have suffered a medical episode related to a pre-existing condition when he crashed on Ridge Road between Ten Eyck and Union avenues just before 5:45 p.m., Lyndhurst Police Capt.
