Crane Crashes Through Roof Of NJ Home
A crane toppled over and came crashing through the roof of a New Jersey home on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Local firefighters shared a photo from the scene on Lea Drive in Hamilton (Mercer County) following the mid-afternoon incident. According to 6ABC Action News it was not clear whether or not anyone was injured.

A woman escaped a fire after being rescued from the roof of her home in North Plainfield early Friday morning, July 11, authorities said. At 1:25 a.m., first responders were dispatched to 489 Richard Way and found the residence engulfed in flames with several residents standing on the front lawn, North Plainfield police said. One woman was still inside the residence, police said. Officials began rescue attempts, however the woman was extremely frightened to leave the roof area, police said. A Wawa is opening in Ocean County and the convenience store chain will celebrate the new location. The new Wawa will be open at 584 Cedar Swamp Road in Jackson Township on Thursday, June 12, the company said in a news release. NJ Man Killed In Mobile Home Fire: Avenel FD
A 65-year-old man was killed in a fire at his Avenel mobile home early morning Wednesday, May 14, authorities said. At 4:20 a.m., firefighters responded to Hiram Homes near South Inman Avenue and North Second Street after receiving a report of a fire, Cory Spillar with the Avenel Fire Department said. Firefighters broke down the door and found the man, who was not identified, sitting in a chair in the kitchen, Spillar said. Firefighters helped rescue 32 people, 28 students and four coaches, after their boat began taking on water on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 9, authorities said. At 5:50 p.m., first responders went to the Tennessee Avenue boat ramp after several crew shells containing members of the Ocean City High School crew team had begun to take on water and were blown off course, the Ocean City Firefighters Association said. Home Catches Fire After Car Crash: Manalapan PD
A vehicle crashed into a home, causing it to be set ablaze on the morning of Tuesday, April 1 in Manalapan, authorities said. At 5:02 a.m., a car crashed into a home on Craig Road near Symmes Drive, and the home then caught on fire, Manalapan police said. The driver of the vehicle was removed by passing motorists, and was transported to an area hospital, police said. A person inside the house was safely removed, police said, and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, police said. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

Officers responded to the scene at around 4:18 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, the Long Beach Township Police Department said in a news release. Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said.
