Ay 7:30 a.m., the Ocean Beach Fire Company responded to a structure fire on East Pelican Way after a neighbor observed smoke and found a fire in the back of the home near an electrical meter panel, the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention said. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service said the 35-acre wildfire was about 50 percent contained as of around 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The fire was burning near Pine Park and the Lakewood Country Club.
