A man was shot and killed by police on Long Island after pointing what appeared to be a shotgun at officers during a domestic disturbance.
The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Carle Place, Nassau County Police said.
Officers responded to a home on Rushmore Avenue after receiving a 911 call from a woman reporting that her 33-year-old son, identified as James Rosano, was “out of control,” highly intoxicated, and refused to leave the residence.

Two teens thought they were going on a date. Instead, they walked into an armed robbery, police in Clifton said.
The incident happened around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, when Clifton Police responded to Harrington Road for a reported armed robbery, Lt. Robert Anderson said.
The 18-year-old male victims had connected with a woman through a dating app and were invited to meet her in the neighborhood, Anderson said. When they arrived, Luis Mena, 24, of Clifton, and Nevaeh Steve, 18, of Asbury Park, apparently approached their vehicle.
