A sticky, yellow disaster unfolded behind a former tavern in Pennsylvania when thousands of eggs tumbled off a truck, officials confirmed on Wednesday, June 5.
The egg-splosion happened on Fairview Road, off Prospect Road in West Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, leaving the lot behind the old Fairview Tavern coated in bright yellow yolk and flattened cartons.
Photos posted by HomeGoodies & Coffee, a Columbia Borough café, captured the aftermath of the egg carnage. The shop joked on Facebook, “Wow, so that’s why egg prices are so high,” alongside the image of the gooey wreckage.

Man On Horse Helps NJ Cops Catch Hit, Run Driver: Police
A man riding a horse assisted police in Riverside Township with catching a hit-and-run driver on Saturday, May 31, authorities said.
That morning, officers were called to Middleton Street after a woman heard a loud crash and saw a vehicle speeding off after hitting her parked car, Riverside police said.
That’s when PJ and his horse, Shiny, showed up, police said.
PJ told the woman he had witnessed a gray Honda Accord crash into her vehicle and drive off, police said. PJ and Shiny rode after the vehicle and got close enough to obtain a partial license plate number, which he passed on …
Support Swells For NJ Man After Dump Truck Slams Into Home
Nick Matteo, a Woodbury Heights resident, lost everything when a dump truck crashed into his home on Tuesday, May 20, causing it to collapse.
At 1:34 p.m., officers responded to Woodbury-Glassboro Road after a dump truck lost control, struck telephone pole and then crashed into his home, Woodbury Heights police said. Matteo, who was home at the time, remains hospitalized, his family said.
The home was demolished following the crash and Matteo lost everything he owned, according to a fundraiser set up to support him.

Family Killed In Crash Will Be Laid To Rest Together
A mother, her teenage daughter, and her sister who were killed in a crash on Saturday, April 19 in Connecticut will be laid to rest together this weekend.
Services for Florinda Antonia Tineo, 50, her daughter Gabriela Johailiz Difo, 17, and her sister Jeannette Tineo, 48, will be held Friday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, April 26 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 626 Willard Ave., with burial at West Meadow Cemetery.
