Driver Disregarded Crossing Gates Before Being Killed By Train In Morris County: Officials A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 struck the vehicle at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park just before 9:30 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said.  A preliminary investigation found that the crossing gates were working as intended and were in the down position when the driver drove the vehicle around the gates and positioned the vehicle into the path of the train, Mulumba said. Prosecutor Identifies Victim Killed In Route 46 Crash Gerard Calcagno, a 55-year-old Bloomfield resident, was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Route 46 in Parsippany on Thursday, June 6, authorities said. At 9:50 p.m., Calcagno was struck near 1429 Route 46 by a 2015 Dodge Journey traveling eastbound, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Calcagno was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The driver remained on scene, authorities said.
