$50K Richer: Winning Powerball Ticket Sold At Marlton Convenience Store
A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was purchased at a convenience store in Burlington County, officials said. The winner was sold at gud2go Food Store on Route 70 West in Marlton, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Thursday, Aug. 15. The ticket was in the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, Aug. 14. The winning numbers were 8, 9, 23, 29, and 62. The Powerball was 13. Another big winner was purchased in the Garden State. A Willingboro man was accused of uploading child pornography videos to the internet, authorities said. Aaron Minor, 24, was charged with second-degree distribution of child sexual abuse material, second-degree possession of child sexual abuse material with the intent to distribute, and third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material. A Somerset man was accused of trying to get a boy to send him nude pictures and videos in a sextortion scheme, authorities said. Sebastian Romero, 27, was arrested on Friday, Aug. 2, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said in a news release. A Philadelphia motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Saturday, Aug. 10 in Burlington County, NJ, police said. Gladerby Bredy was found lying along the south shoulder of Arney’s Mount Road in Pemberton after being struck by a vehicle just after 10:40 p.m., Chief Jon Glass said. Bredy had been heading west on North Pemberton Road when he was struck by a southbound vehicle on Arney's Mount Road, Glass said. The National Weather Service has shifted its tornado watch across New Jersey and Pennsylvania as Hurricane Debby creeps in. In New Jersey, the tornado watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and covers Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties in North Jersey. A boy was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train early Thursday, Aug. 8 in Burlington County, officials said. The crash happened just before 8:20 a.m. and involved a northbound River LINE train at Chestnut Street crossing in Palmyra, NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. 'Rest Easy, My Friend': Motorcyclist Mourned After Deadly Crash On Rural South Jersey Road
A Hammonton man was killed when his motorcycle crashed on a rural road in Burlington County, authorities said. Mark Rodier, 56, died in the crash on County Route 542 in Washington Township on Saturday, Aug. 3, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the wreck near milepost 14.4 at around 7:10 p.m. Investigators said Rodier was driving east on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it went off the road and overturned.
