Schools across South Jersey were closed Monday, Jan. 6 due to snow, with Cape May County recording the highest totals, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). A winter storm swept across the state, dumping up to 8 inches of snow in some areas and creating picturesque scenes — and some travel headaches. School was canceled in Dennis Township due to a state police investigation that forced students to stay inside, authorities said. The Dennis Township School District said classes wouldn't be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10 "due to the continued threat in our area" and to keep students and staff safe. Three juveniles from Gloucester County were in custody on Monday, Sept. 9 in connection with social media threats made against "numerous" South Jersey schools, authorities said.
