Roofing Work Causes Fire, $50K In Damage To Wildwood Home: Firefighters A fire broke out at a Cape May County home about four blocks from the beachfront, officials said. Wildwood firefighters responded to the house on the 100 block of East Roberts Avenue at around 3:36 on Wednesday, May 22, the department said in a Facebook post. The first crew on the scene saw smoke coming from the back and roof of the two-story home. All humans inside the two-family house were able to get out safely.
