A lottery ticket worth more than $165,000 was purchased at an Atlantic County supermarket, officials said. The winner was sold at the ShopRite on English Creek Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Thursday, Oct. 24. The ticket that brought home the $165,867 jackpot matched all five numbers in the Jersey Cash 5 drawing on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The winning numbers were 7, 11, 26, 37, and 45. Man Killed By Police In South Jersey Identified, Details Released
Authorities have released details and identified the man killed by police on Saturday, Oct. 19in Burlington County. Officers responding to smoke coming from a Pemberton home on Woodland Avenue around 3:20 p.m., New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. They were notified that a man later identified as Marvin Taylor, 57, had a firearm and was in the backyard. A 14-year-old bicyclist hospitalized after being struck by an SUV in Burlington County a week ago died two days later, authorities said. The teenager was hit on the westbound side of Route 38 at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14 as he tried to cross the highway near milepost 19.1 in Southampton, New Jersey State Police said. Emergency workers brought the 14-year-old to an area hospital where he died on Sunday, June 16, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman.
