Man Pulled Knife On Business Owner In Downtown Absecon, Police Say
A man was wanted for an armed robbery in downtown Absecon's business district, authorities said. Officers responded to the robbery on New Jersey Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. A 911 caller reported that a man pulled out a knife and demanded money from a business owner. The owner got out of the business uninjured and the suspect ran away from the scene. A wanted man from Absecon was accused of having a stolen gun from Virginia, authorities said. Atlantic City police arrested 43-year-old David Toney, the department said in a news release on Thursday, Sept. 12. Officers stopped Toney while he was driving on the first block of South Kentucky Avenue at around 6:01 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6. Police ID Motorcyclist, 59, Killed In Atlantic County Crash
Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in an Atlantic County crash this weekend as a 59-year-old man. Joseph Stetser, of Absecon, was ejected from his 2006 Harley Davidson after hitting a guardrail on East Moss Mill Road near Sander Place around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, June 23 in Galloway, local police said. Stetser had been traveling westbound on East Moss Mill Road when he struck the guardrail just west of the intersection of Sander Place. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
