An abandoned building fire in Galloway Township was being investigated as possible arson as the scene forced both directions of Route 30 to shut down, officials said. The fire ripped through an abandoned building on the 400 block of South Odessa Avenue on Tuesday, Dec. 31, the Galloway Township Police Department said in an update posted on Facebook at 3:20 p.m. No injuries were reported in the fire. Toms River Driver, 84, Suffers 'Medical Emergency,' Knocks Down Utility Pole: Police
An elderly Toms River man was hospitalized after crashing into a utility pole in Ocean County, authorities said. The 84-year-old man was driving at the intersection of Route 70 and Center Street at around 12:16 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, the Lakehurst Police Department said in a news release. He suffered a "medical emergency" and lost control of his vehicle, knocking down a utility pole. Paramedics brought the man to Community Medical Center for treatment. Crash Involving Pedestrian Shuts Down Central Jersey Road, Police Say
Police were at the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian in a Monmouth County township, authorities said. Officers responded to the crash on Bethany Road on Monday, Aug. 12, Holmdel police said in a Facebook post at 9:15 a.m. The crash investigation closed Bethany between Hillcrest and Line roads. Police didn't mention how many vehicles were involved or the condition of the pedestrian. Nearby Workers, Bystanders Rush To Help Fiery Crash Victims In South Jersey
Bystanders and employees at nearby businesses were praised for helping the two victims of a fiery crash in Atlantic County, authorities said. Egg Harbor Township police responded to the crash near 2511 Fire Road at around 9:37 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, the department said in a news release. A pair of water main breaks have diverted traffic in South Brunswick, authorities said. The first break closed Route 522 eastbound between Stouts Lane and New Road, according to South Brunswick police. It created a 10-foot-wide sinkhole.
