Haddon, 76, was found unresponsive in a second-floor bedroom of a residence on the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road Friday morning. Firefighters responded to the home on South Gateway at around 9:05 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention said in a news release. Family Escapes Fire That Destroys Home In Central Jersey A South Brunswick family is safe after escaping a fire that destroyed their home. South Brunswick police responded at 7:45 p.m. Saturday to a report of a home on fire at 4 Beryl Court in the Kendall Park section of the Township.  Upon arrival, officers and firefighters observed heavy flames at the rear of the home.  The homeowner said he was able to get his wife, two sons, and pets out of the home before police arrived.  He explained he was outside his home when he noticed smoke from the rear of his ranch-style home.
